Foreshadow is an earth pony NPC who can be found in front of the Hermit's Cottage in the Heartlands atop a hill at the intersection of the paths to Ponydale, Midway Village, and the Ferry Launch. Talking to her gives players the option to start the Shown Their Work quest.

- Foreshadowing is a literary device in which a writer gives an advance hint of what is to come later in the story, and helps the reader develop expectations about the coming events in a story.
- During Open Server Event 9 of August, 2015, she had an empty merchant menu that allowed her to buy items from the player but had nothing to sell. This was a coding error and was corrected shortly after the Event ended.
